Meet the members

Chilla Jones- A renowned battle rapper and musician from Boston, Massachusetts. Known for his intricate wordplay and strategic lyricism, Chilla has become one of the most respected figures in battle rap, competing in top leagues like King of the Dot (KOTD) and URL. He made history by winning the KOTD World Title in 2019 and has earned a reputation for his technical skill and impactful presence in battles. Alongside his battle career, Chilla has released several mixtapes, including Jones: The Mixtape and Welcome to Bosstown, demonstrating his versatility as an artist.

In addition to his work as a rapper, Chilla Jones is the founder of TakeOva Battle League (TBL), a platform dedicated to elevating battle rap by showcasing high-caliber talent. TBL has hosted major events, including the "Apollo" event in 2025, featuring battles with top-tier rappers like Aye Verb and Daylyt. Through TBL, Chilla continues to influence the culture, while also mentoring up-and-coming artists and solidifying his legacy as both a battle rap icon and a community leader.

A. Ward- A highly respected battle rapper from Kansas City, Missouri, known for his intricate wordplay, crowd-moving rebuttals, and the bold integration of his Christian faith into his rhymes. Since his debut in 2016, he has built an impressive resume with over 100 battles across top leagues like King of the Dot (KOTD), Rare Breed Entertainment (RBE), and TBL to name a few, earning millions of views.

A founding member of the Four Horsemen battle rap crew— A. Ward stands out for his clean performances and ability to compete at the highest level with or without profanity. His battles against top names like Tay Roc, Illmac, and Geechi Gotti have solidified his place among the elite, while his work as a spoken word poet and Christian hip-hop artist reflects his passion for purpose-driven artistry.

Real Deal- A veteran battle rapper from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, known for his sharp lyricism, freestyle ability, and long-standing presence in the battle rap scene. With over 130 battles across leagues like King of the Dot (KOTD), URL, and Grind Time, he has earned a reputation as one of the most consistent and respected names in the game. In 2019, he won the KOTD Championship and went on to be the longest tenured champion while tying the late, great Pat Stay for the record for most title defenses.

Outside of battle rap, Real Deal is also a dedicated school teacher and music artist, with albums like The Renaissance and Charlie. The latter was inspired by his late father and is closely tied to his "Justice for Charlie" campaign, which honors his father’s legacy and advocates for accountability in medical negligence cases. Balancing education and performance, Real Deal brings both passion and purpose to everything he does.

Quest MCODY- a legendary battle rapper from Detroit, Michigan, known for his intricate lyricism, powerful delivery, and thought-provoking angles. A veteran of the battle rap scene since the early 2000s, he has competed on major platforms like URL, King of the Dot, and RBE, and is widely respected for his consistency, depth, and integrity. Marv Won - a hall of fame battle rapper, producer, and emcee from Detroit, Michigan, with over two decades in the game. A sharp lyricist with a commanding presence, Marv has battled on top platforms like King of the Dot and URL, earning a place on BET’s list of the “50 Best Battle Rappers of All Time.” His impact in the battle scene is matched by his influence in Detroit’s underground hip-hop culture. Beyond battle rap, Marv is an accomplished solo artist and producer, with albums like Soundtrack of Autumn and I'm Fine, Thanks for Asking showcasing his introspective style and storytelling ability. He has collaborated with notable names such as Royce da 5'9", Freeway, and Denaun Porter, and is a member of the underground supergroup Fat Killahz.
